applied physics whatever the hell you are makes me doubt myself momentarily, but I've always believed that the heat and the explosive force produced durring the combustion process were seperate effects not contingent on eachother. one is desired and one is not, and in a different chemical reaction resulting in an explosion you do not always need heat to get an explosive force.
If I'm wrong then sue me but then again I'm not the one splitting hairs about words interchangable in common usage.
